Encouraging start in Spi Ouest for Live Ocean Racing

Live Ocean Racing has finished fifth out of eight teams overall in its first weekend of racing in the ETF26 Grand Prix at Spi Ouest, France.

The team, skippered by Liv Mackay, had an encouraging run of improving results over the four-day event in light winds –

Day one: 7, 3, 6, 3

Day two: 7, 6, 4

Day three: 6, 5, 3, disqualified, 2

Day four: 2, 3

“We improved a lot throughout the week which makes me really excited about the future,” said Liv Mackay.

“We are working well together as a team to learn the boat and showed some promising results in our first event. I’m enjoying the ETF26 Grand Prix so far and looking forward to the rest of the season.”

ETF26’s Spi Ouest event was dominated by Team Pro, with Jean Christophe Mournia skippering them to nine wins in the 14 races.

There are four more events in the ETF26 Grand Prix circuit which be sailed in France and Italy. Next up is Eurocat in Carnac starting 29 April- 1 May.
