RUN4THEGULF

ARE YOU IN? JOIN TEAM LIVE OCEAN AND RUN4THEGULF AT ROUND THE BAYS ON 3 MARCH 2024!

Whether you run, jog or walk the 8.4km you’ll be right alongside Tīkapa Moana, Hauraki Gulf. This very special national marine park is stunning above the waterline, but below the surface the marine ecosystem is suffering.

By joining team Live Ocean you’ll be helping us drive action. 100% of funds raised for Live Ocean Foundation through Run4TheGulf will go to our project partners doing vital work in the Hauraki Gulf.

BIB COLLECTION & EVENT DAY

Here’s a wrap of what you need to know…

Event bib collection is on at the RNZYS on 1 & 2 March – You’ll need to get along to the Southern Cross Round the Bays bib collection for your race bib and timing chip. See their opening hours on the event website.

Live Ocean temporary tattoo – You need one of these to show you’re part of team Live Ocean! Stop by the Live Ocean Run4TheGulf table when you collect your event bib for an awesome (and free) Live Ocean temporary tattoo.

On event day… You can run, walk or jog this your own way, but if you’re keen to connect with other members of team Live Ocean before the start we’d love to see you.

Here’s what you need to know…

Pre-start Run4TheGulf muster point – Meet us at 8:00am on ‘Takutai Lawn’, Takutai Square, Britomart for a Live Ocean Run4TheGulf group photo to be taken at 8:15am sharp.

Getting to the start line – From Takutai we’ll head off to the allocated starting areas for the runner, jogger and walker waves. We’ll have a ‘team lead’ from Live Ocean in each starting wave and you’re welcome to stick with us across to the start-line, or you can make your own way there. If you’re an elite runner – go you – we’ll see you at the other end!

On the course – There’ll be thousands of others out on the course, so if you part ways with us during the event we’ll look forward to seeing you at the Live Ocean tent at Maddills Farm after the finish.

Take care of your little people – If you have children in your group we ask you to take special care to ensure they’re safe and sound throughout the day.

Drinking water – the event team provide water on course, at the start line and at Maddills Farm to keep all participants well-hydrated. Bringing your own refillable water bottle is a great option.  All event water stations use fully compostable cups.

Live Ocean tent at Maddills Farm – we’d love to see you there – Once you’ve crossed the finish we suggest you catch your breath at the finish line before you follow the signs to Maddills Farm to find the Live Ocean tent loacted across sites T3-5.

It’s a short 10-minute walk away and Live Ocean co-founders Peter Burling and Blair Tuke will be there, along with team ambassadors Jesse Tuke, Jono Ridler and Liv Mackay. We’ll have snacks at our tent, open until 1pm.

Transport, logistics and other event information – is available at www.roundthebays.co.nz.

No pets, bicycles, scooters, skates, skateboards or roller blades are permitted.
