Live Ocean Racing Team
The final day forecast for little to no wind in La Rochelle proved accurate, and there was no racing on the final scheduled day for the ETF26 SERIES event in La Rochelle, France.

Live Ocean Racing, who were lying just three points shy of 4th place at the close of the penultimate day, were denied the chance to close the gap and they finish the regatta with 5th overall.

Day three in La Rochelle brought fun conditions for Live Ocean Racing competing in event four of the ETF26 SERIES for 2023.

The New Zealand team produced solid results across the five races sailed and will go into the final day of the regatta lying 5th on the leaderboard, just three points shy of 4th placed Toroa Racing.

Live Ocean Racing’s scorecard for day three reads 4th, 3rd, 5th, 4th, 7th

“We had face races in a building breeze with good waves,” says skipper Liv Mackay. “With around 18-20 knots towards the end of the day – it was pretty fun.”

“Back to reaching starts – and we had five good starts which was really good.”

“We made a few mistakes each race which cost us, but overall, it was an improvement which is positive.”

The next and final stop for the ETF26 SERIES 2023 season is just two weeks away in Murcia, Spain on from 4-7 October.
