Racing wraps in Mar Menor
Live Ocean Racing Team
Racing wrapped up today in Mar Menor, Spain at the first ETF26 Series event for 2024, where Live Ocean Racing has come away with 8TH overall.

The final day delivered 15 knots of breeze and the fleet sailed one longer coastal race followed by two short course races. Live Ocean Racing placed 7TH in the coastal race, with an 8TH and a 7TH in the last two races.

The team, made up skipper Liv Mackay, Leonard Takahashi on bow and Oscar Gunn as trimmer, is a new combination and racing in the fast-paced foiling catamarans up against some of the best in the business who’ve had more training and racing hours, has provided plenty of learnings.

Mackay says it’s been challenging, but they’ll take the positives; “We were getting solid starts, but at times we struggled to maintain our position on the course up against the well-oiled teams. The fleet and racing here this year are top quality. As a new combination we’ll be looking at the learnings from this one, so when we come back together, we’re ready to go again.”

Leading the regatta from start to finish, Frank Cammas on Entreprises du Morbihan (FRA) took out the top spot with the Nicolai Sehested skippered Team Rockwool Racing 1 (DEN) taking second, and Toroa Racing rounding out the podium spots.

The next event in the ETF26 Series is in Hyères, France and runs from 22-25 May.
